A Mason should never ask you to join our fraternity. Petitioning for the Degrees of Freemasonry must be done of your own freewill. A petitioner must be a man, 18 years of age or older, believe in a Supreme Being, and be of good moral character.
There are several ways you can begin to petition a Lodge for the Degrees of Freemasonry:
- If you know a Freemason, ask him for a petition. He'll be glad to help you.
- Visit an area Lodge when they are meeting. The list of El Paso Lodges will provide you with links and information concerning meeting times, addresses, and maps of area Lodges. If you plan to visit a Lodge on a meeting day, go early so we can get to know you and explain the process in detail.
- Call an area Lodge and tell them you would like to petition. The list of El Paso Lodges will provide you with Lodge telephone numbers. Most Lodges have telephone answering machines. If there is no answer, leave a message and someone will get back to you.
- Email us and we will set up a date and time a member can meet with you at your convenience.
